The story of Danna’s BBQ goes back to my childhood… I have wonderful memories of sitting at the counter of The Brisket House, a restaurant owned and operated by my Great Aunt Ruth and Uncle Jack. As I ate barbecue and sipped coke, I dreamed of owning a restaurant of my own one day. Years later, I met my husband, Kyle, who has a restaurant and hotel management degree, while we were both working in a restaurant. After we were married, Kyle was transferred to Branson, Missouri to open a large national chain restaurant where I worked as manager. After I had my first baby, I knew the time was right for starting our own restaurant, which would enable me to keep my baby with me.
In the summer of 2001, we made our dream a reality and opened Danna’s BBQ and Burger Shop in Branson. We had no doubt it would be a success, because we paired our shared passion for down home barbecue with years of restaurant business expertise and education. Unfortunately, a little over a year later, an electrical fire burned the restaurant down in the middle of the night. We weren’t deterred, however, and Kyle and I remodeled an old hotel into the current restaurant in Branson. Since then, we have expanded with two additional locations, which are in Branson West and Kirbyville, Missouri.
Today, Danna’s BBQ remains a family business; on weekends and during the summer you can find our two boys helping out and caring for the family business. We like to see families visit us, and we are closed on Sundays in order to give our staff quality time with their own families. We are also dedicated to our community. We do what we can to support our local fire department, emergency services, police department, church and sports teams.
Whether you are visiting Branson to see the sites or a member of our community, we hope you join us for smoked pork, barbecue ribs, barbecue chicken, burgers, BBQ nachos, huge salads, stuffed baked potatoes, sausage and much more.
Hope to see you soon!
